Word of the Day – 6th December

Todays word of the day is “distraught” from Kensuke’s Kingdom.

It appeared on page 86 in this sentence: “I could only look on, helpless and distraught,as the tanker moved inexorably further and further away from me until it began to disappear over the horizon.”

Distraught is an adjective and it means extreme unhappiness or great physical pain.

Word of the Day – 5th December

Wellington suggested today’s word which is “indignant“. He came across it while reading his library book.

To be indignant means to feel or show anger or annoyance at being treated unfairly. For example, “The child protested indignantly when she was accused of hurting her friend in the yard”

Photostory Presentations

Over the past couple of months we have been working on creating Photostories during our classes in the computer room. We were working in pairs and each pair picked a country they were interested in. We had a range of countries and cities from France, Hawaii, Scotland and Brazil to London, LA, Germany & California. We researched some facts on the countries and downloaded some photos to accompany these facts.

Last week we presented them to the class as you can see below.

What did you learn from watching the other children’s Photostories?
